- (1831-86)Hebrew journalist and editor. He was born in Podmerecz and settled in Sergei, where he worked as a teacher. In the mid-1850s he emigrated to England, where he taught Hebrew and German. In 1858 he moved to Lyck, where he was assistant editor and later editor of the Hebrew weekly Ha-Maggid. He became one of the leading members of rlibbat Zion in the 1880s. He published several books and contributed to Hebrew and Yiddish journals.
